I am still trying to get over how much damage was done to my husband's system, when he took antibiotics that his dentist prescribed to him. If you haven't already seen my post about this, please CLICK HERE. Those 3 "innocent looking" drugs he took caused him to develop inflammation, scarring, edema, and abdominal fluid!! What kills me is, he said he considered not taking them, but he just took them anyway (he defaulted to his "good patient" ways)!
I've was on antibiotics for most of my teenage years (because of acne) and paid the price in my adulthood. Not only did the acne come back, over and over again (to the point where I had to take accutane 3 times), but I am certain it was a primary reason why I developed systemic candida in my 20's.
I hope you find these videos to be helpful. Again, I'm not saying don't ever take antibiotics, but if you are not in a life-or-death situation... you may want to weigh the risks of taking them, vs. not taking them.
Brit says that beneficial bacteria produce 80 or 90 percent of the serotonin in our bodies!! (I'd never heard that before). Serotonin is the neurotransmitter that is like our "happy hormone." It's what is released when we eat or consume substances that make us feel really good.
I thought I should check this out myself and yep... she seems to be right on this one. As a matter of fact, the study I found says NINETY FIVE percent of serotonin is produced by gut bacteria! Please scroll all the way down this post, to see more of the study... you can find the original article by clicking HERE.
Gut bacteria also produce hundreds of neurochemicals that the brain uses to regulate basic physiological processes as well as mental processes such as learning, memory and mood. For example, gut bacteria manufacture about 95 percent of the body's supply of serotonin, which influences both mood and GI activity.
I highly, highly recommend watching this video below, because she talks about different ways to increase bile production and digestion, and people with cirrhosis don't produce enough bile, which causes all kinds of problems, including jaundice.
PLEASE READ this article about Bile Production... it is a real eye opener!!!
